In grief…
When I talk to people in grief, I let them know that deep sorrow cannot truly be defined. It is unique to each person. I take the time and care to listen deeply and to offer support when asked. I have many years of experience working with individuals and families experiencing grief and its complex stages. Emotional, physical, spiritual, and mental. My clients and I weave a healing quilt together using journaling, support group attendance, energy healing, sound healing, one-on-one sessions, and family sessions to ensure dignity, respect, and care.
People can feel grief for many reasons. It might happen after losing a loved one, being separated from someone close, losing a job or income, when a pet dies, when children leave home, or during major life changes like divorce, moving, or retirement.
Grief often comes in steps. These steps show how people react as they try to understand and deal with loss. The most common steps include:
Denial, numbness, and shock: Feeling numb after a loss is normal. It does not mean you do not care.
Bargaining: In this stage, you might keep thinking about what you could have done differently to prevent the loss.
Depression: Here, you start to feel the full impact of the loss.
Anger: Many people feel angry during grief, often because they feel helpless or abandoned by the loss.
Acceptance: Over time, you may come to terms with your feelings and emotions about the loss.

“Thea has been an important healer and dear friend in my life for more than a decade. She has provided some of the most profound healing and grounding I have experienced, and that is saying a great deal more than you likely imagine. She was literally at my side after the sudden death of my husband. She was all four legs of the table for me when I had none of my own. Her heart is huge, and her capacity for intuiting and supporting what is needed is profound. May you, too, find the deep connection I feel with Thea and her work.”
